ABOUT us

After unexpectedly losing her mom in January of 2022, Ana Romano was faced with the burden of immense loss at age 24. While surrounded by a loving community of cousins, friends and church family, Ana quickly felt the gap that grief creates in relationships and also noticed frequent outreach stops after about a month of grieving. As Ana has known several others to endure tragic losses in recent years, she began to observe how they experienced the same gaps in outreach after that initial month had passed. Motivated to be the change and express care for others grieving in any stage and any loss, Joy in the Mourning Ministries was born. After praying about how God would direct Ana with her thoughts of this ministry, it was made clear to Ana that this mercy ministry was what God was calling her to do. It is now her mission to share the joy that she has found in the Lord by caring for others as they experience grief in their own ways.

Ana and the team at Joy in the Mourning Ministries are dedicated to caring about people individually, sharing hope and encouragement year round, praying confidentially and specifically, and meeting whatever needs possible to help others experiencing loss. In addition to being there for individuals, the Joy in the Mourning Ministries team is available to be ongoing support for churches that desire help filling the gap in their grief ministries.
